From Screen to Asphalt: The Porsche Esports Supercup Enters a Bold New Era

For years, the line between virtual and real-world motorsport has been blurring. But in 2026, Porsche is officially erasing it.
The Porsche Esports Supercup (PESC) is returning for its eighth season on iRacing, and it’s no longer "just" the most prestigious sim racing series in the world. It has evolved into a definitive gateway to real-world motorsport. If you’ve ever sat in your rig and wondered if your lap times would translate to a real 911 GT3 Cup car, this is your season. Here is everything you need to know about the revamped PESC 2026.

The Ultimate Prize: A Seat in a Real Race Car
The biggest headline this year is the "Raceborn" mentality. Porsche is actively hunting for talent to transition from the simulator to the tarmac.
Following the World Championship, the top five performers will be invited to the Porsche Esports Performance Center (PEPC) in Cologne for a grueling Talent Shoot-Out. The best of the best from that selection process won’t just walk away with a trophy—they will receive direct support from Porsche Motorsport to enter a real-world Porsche one-make cup.
We’ve already seen this success story in action. Joshua Rogers, a titan of the sim racing world, recently made his real-world debut in the Porsche Sprint Challenge Great Britain, securing three podiums in his first weekend. This season, that path is open to you.
The Road to the Championship: 4 Stages of Competition
The 2026 season introduces a structured, multi-stage selection process designed to find the fastest drivers across the globe.
1. Qualification (May 13 – June 6)
There are two ways to enter:
-
National Championships: Top drivers from the Porsche Esports Carrera Cup (GB and North America) and the Porsche Esports Endurance Trophy Nürburgring earn direct spots.
-
Global Open Qualifier: Open to everyone on the iRacing platform. Across several race weeks, drivers will battle for ranking within their regions.
2. Regional Championships (June 27 – August 29)
The top 32 drivers from four global regions will face off in a five-race weekly sprint. Only the top 8 from each region (32 drivers total) will advance to the big stage.
3. World Championship (September 19 – October 24)
The elite 32 will compete on five of the most legendary circuits in the world:
-
Spa-Francorchamps
-
Silverstone
-
Suzuka
-
Interlagos
-
Monza
The stakes? A $30,000 USD prize pool, with $10,000 going to the overall champion—and, of course, those coveted invitations to the Talent Shoot-Out in Cologne.

Why This Matters
As Thomas Laudenbach, Vice President of Porsche Motorsport, puts it: "Whether digital or real, motorsport is in our blood." Porsche isn’t just using PESC for visibility; they are using it as a high-tech scouting tool. Modern simulations are so accurate that the steering forces, braking points, and race strategies are nearly identical to the real thing. This season is the ultimate proof of concept for the next generation of racing drivers.
