The 2026 Sim Racing Expo in Charlotte certainly did not disappoint. Between the great weather, the amazing local barbecue, and the sheer energy of the event, it was an incredible weekend. Nestled in the heart of a major professional racing hub and located directly next door to the NASCAR Hall of Fame, Charlotte felt like the perfect host city. Being in town on the exact same weekend as the Coca-Cola 600 was just the cherry on top.

The turnout was exactly what I expected. The floor was buzzing with activity, which is no surprise given how rapidly the sim racing industry continues to gain traction. Even with the busy crowds, the trade show hall had plenty of space, leaving me excited to see how much this industry—and this event—will grow to fill it over the next few years.

Remembering Kyle Busch
Before we dive into the photos and the gear from the floor, I want to take a moment to acknowledge the sudden passing of Kyle Busch. Being in Charlotte—the very heart of the NASCAR community—during such a tragic time undeniably cast a heavy shadow over the weekend. As someone around his age with a young family of my own, and as a lifelong fan of motorsports and going fast, his loss hit particularly close to home. The expo opened with a powerful moment of silence in his honor, and his presence was felt by everyone in attendance throughout the event. He leaves behind an incredible legacy and will be dearly missed by the entire racing world.

Entering the Show Floor
Stepping into the main expo hall, you were immediately greeted by a massive horizon of the latest state-of-the-art gear and cutting-edge rigs from across the sim racing industry and beyond. The manufacturer turnout was incredible this year. Heavy hitters and boutique brands alike were fully represented—including Fanatec, Conspit, Advanced SimRacing, Simucube, Simagic, iRacing, Heusinkveld, and Asetek, just to name a few.

F1 Immersion at Home: Conspit’s HALO 270
One of the biggest showstoppers on the floor was the debut of Conspit’s HALO 270 projection display system. Wrapping around the driver for a full 270 degrees, the massive triple short-throw projector setup mirrors the exact kind of professional simulators utilized by real Formula One teams, but engineered specifically for home use. The depth, distance, and seamless wraparound field of view are simply unmatched by standard monitors. To complete the ultimate open-wheel setup, they also showcased their stunning new Formula Cockpit to pair perfectly with the screen, replicating a true 1:1 modern Formula racing position.

Hauling Freight and Hitting Apexes: The Viral Semi-Truck Rig
While we are on the topic of Conspit, we have to talk about one of the coolest things to roll into the expo this year. If you keep up with the sim racing community on Reddit, you already know about the viral semi-truck with a full simulator built into the passenger seat. The driver, Zana, brought the rig to Charlotte, and it is even better in person. Following the viral success of his initial build, Conspit actually stepped in and fully upgraded his setup. He is now running a complete Conspit ecosystem—featuring a beautiful GT Lite cockpit, an Ares Platinum wheelbase, a 300GT wheel, and CPP Evo 3 pedals—all packed perfectly into the cab of his truck. Seeing a working trucker swap from his driver's seat directly into a high-end sim rig during his downtime was easily one of the highlights of the weekend!

The Simagic Corner: A Wheel for Every Driver
You couldn't miss Simagic at the expo this year—they practically took over an entire corner of the hall. They brought an incredible setup complete with multiple fully operational demo rigs, allowing the community to experience their force feedback and pedal sets firsthand. What really stole the show, however, was the massive showcase of their entire wheel lineup. The expo served as the official debut for their brand-new Zeus Series modular wheels and the new MagicDash display, so getting to see those in person alongside community favorites like the GT Neo and the FX Pro was fantastic. Whether you run rally, GT, or open-wheel, their booth proved they truly have an ecosystem built for every type of driver.

eNASCAR: From the Rig to the Racetrack
eNASCAR also had a massive presence on the floor, using their booth to showcase the rapidly blurring line between virtual and real-world motorsports. A huge focus of their setup was spotlighting the pro drivers who started their journeys on iRacing before making the leap to the actual racetrack—proving that the sim-to-reality pipeline is stronger than ever. They also heavily highlighted their ongoing deep integration with iRacing and showcased the eNASCAR College iRacing Series. It was inspiring to see how much support they are pouring into the collegiate level, giving student drivers a legitimate, competitive platform to launch their racing careers.

Moving the Needle: Advanced SimRacing x D-BOX
If you wanted to feel every single bump, curb, and loss of traction, the joint booth from Advanced SimRacing and D-BOX was the place to be. Partnering up for the expo, they showcased the incredible synergy between their ecosystems, using the latest AS4 chassis as the foundation. Advanced SimRacing’s rock-solid extrusion design provided the perfect, flex-free platform for D-BOX’s premium motion system to do its work. Getting to see the AS4 brought to life with that level of precise, instantaneous haptic feedback was incredibly impressive. It was a masterclass in how pairing the right chassis with the right motion system completely transforms the sim racing experience.

Something for Every Racer: The iRacing Studios Booth
The iRacing Studios booth was absolutely packed all weekend, and for good reason—their team brought out the heavy hitters. Beyond showcasing the latest updates to the core iRacing simulation we all know and love, they also gave attendees a chance to jump into their newer, diverse lineup of titles. It was a blast getting some hands-on time with iRacing Arcade, which perfectly blends authentic physics with an approachable, stylized look. On top of that, getting a look at the upcoming standalone INDYCAR game proved that the studio is deeply committed to delivering authentic, dedicated racing experiences across the board. Whether you were looking for intense laser-scanned realism or a fun, controller-friendly battle, their booth delivered.
Blurring the Line: Fanatec & The Random Vandals BMW GT3
Fanatec made a serious statement this year by bringing out their entire, expansive catalog. Getting hands-on with everything from their CSL load cell pedals up to their top-tier Podium direct drive systems was great, but the absolute centerpiece of their booth was parked right on the floor: the stunning Random Vandals Racing BMW GT3 car. Bringing in a real-world GT World Challenge race car was the perfect way to showcase the flagship Fanatec BMW M4 GT3 steering wheel. Seeing the exact same piece of carbon-fiber hardware that controls a real race car ready to be mounted straight to a sim rig is a powerful reminder of just how authentic this hardware has become.

Raffa Racing Brings the Paddock to the Floor
You cannot have a proper motorsports expo without some actual, high-octane track cars, and Raffa Racing absolutely delivered on that front. They set up an incredible display that gave attendees a front-row look at top-tier automotive engineering, featuring both a Toyota GR Supra GT4 and a McLaren GT4. We spend hundreds of hours driving these exact cars on virtual tracks, so getting to see the true scale, carbon work, and aggressive stance of these machines in real life is a completely different experience. To top it all off, they parked a jaw-dropping Porsche GT3 RS right alongside the GT4 cars, easily making it one of the most photogenic spots on the entire show floor.

Wrapping Up Friday in Charlotte
That about covers my favorite highlights from the floor! Looking back, my only real regret from the Charlotte Sim Racing Expo is not planning to stay longer. There was simply too much incredible gear and too many great conversations to pack into a single afternoon. Lesson learned: next time, I am absolutely dedicating at least one more full day to the floor.
But the good news is that we don't have to wait long for the next gathering. The Sim Gaming Expo is taking over the Schaumburg Convention Center in Chicago this September, and you can bet Grid Logic will be there. If you are planning to attend, make sure to reach out—I would love to connect on the floor, talk gear, and discuss how our Pit Crew service can help get your own rig optimized and grid-ready. See you in Chicago!
